beg_sur Similar to Ivy Tripp-style Waxahatchee but still totally self assured and wonderfully personal. Favorite track: Sleep My Pretties.

Swanning 02:24
Pass me now, a skeleton in the trunk and I'm emptied out. Endless drives and a dry mouth I keep shut up so tight. My name is lunar, I was born to phase. When you look right at me, tell me, can you feel the change? I stay up all night. I wish I had your name, you're always right, around, when I feel left out, when I feel drained out and down. I look for you in every cracked window, in every empty road that never takes me home. I allot my time to dancing in a dim light, and my darkest days are never at night. When the sun is harsh, and you're glowing too bright, you won't find me when I get this high.
2.
You come around, I'm shedding skin. Lay in the sun, I'll drink it in. You walk away, vapid and strange. We lost our minds on the same day. I'm not her, I like it that way. If I was, I'd never ever be not unhapppy. You hunt us down incessantly. I turn the gun, dream vermilion seas. My revenge is a piece of me. I feed it almost everything. I'm not her, I like it that way. If I was, I'd never ever be not unhappy. There's no sun in a windowless room, and there's no soul in another song about me and you: we're the lily of the valley.

Mums & Rye 02:18
I see you in mums and fields of rye. I take my time getting over you tonight. You are above, and I am below, soft and low. I don't mind the cold through the open window. The things I keep are untouchable and weak. I stay inside where the vines grow recklessly. No one here understands me, I am free. You were not defectless but that's how I choose to see you. I will be unvanquished tonight.
4.
Downtown 04:02
I'll meet you downtown where it is too loud so I can tune you out. Rightfully I'll be the one who's outgrowing you and me. I am lazy, I am in for it with you because I don't have the energy to be the one who is always wrong. I'd be good if you'd let me. You meet me on the corner, I'm looking down. I'm flipping through the phonebook to call around. The space I need is much too much, so I'll call you in the morning. Don't put me down. I'll meet you downtown where it is too loud for us to speak or hear. Trash in the gutter, I can't help but wonder what you fear. I'm not lazy, I'm not as crazy as you will make me out to be. Your demands are out of my reach so I get down and pray for release. You meet me on the corner, I'm looking down. I'm flipping through the phonebook to call around. The space I need is much too much, so I'll call you in the morning. Don't put me down. You say I'm ruined, but you seem the same, and I don't think I like you as much as I liked you yesterday. I'll meet you downtown.

Gradient green, slam into me completely. I am not as I seem, I'm gracefully pretending. Pardon me while I bloom out like a blast and into your bedroom. I am proper in my hate, I am relentless in my pained state. My eyes are rot, forever in knots, forever unfair to you. Teach me some things I'll never use completely. We are beyond your means. You get me wrapped up in a bad scene. We are bruised in foreign places, in our beds, and in our safe havens. You were born luckier than we. My eyes are rot, forever in knots, forever unfair to you. You were brought into this world having everything. I will take you out in one solid sweep. Don't you look away as you writhe in my pain. I get dangerous with age.

I am just another moon of Jupiter. One of 67, I fall back in line. Guard my mind, trash the voice that's not you, talk in reverse. Nevermind the pull of the weightlessly divine. I am not nothing, I orbit backwards in revolutions you won't fight. Jovian, I still believe in you. We are of one damaged mind. We will never be the sun. We will only win our own way. We will always be each other's deities. I'm not who you once knew; I want more than they do. Dusty rings I can see right through. All spaced out on your pull. In a way, I'm incorrigible. A daughter of an undiscovered moon. Kill all my darlings, I've got it bad for the purest blue of the softest nights. Wake me up slowly, pour me out into the light. We will never be the sun. We will only win our own way.
